In pictures: Emergency services use drone to investigate Guildford fire

A drone has been pictured in a residential road in Guildford as an investigation into a fire continues.

Woking Road near the Red Rose Indian Restaurant remains closed on Saturday morning (October 19) after a car “went up in flames” at around 4am.

A neighbour living in Woking Road, who wished to remain anonymous said: “At 4am there was a tremendous bang and all of a sudden there was a tremendous light. I thought there was an accident in the road but there wasn’t.

“It was this car next door to me – it went up in flames. It took the caravan as well and part of the house. We don’t know any other details at all. The owners [of the house] have been taken to hospital.”

Officers at the scene were unable to provide further information on the use of the drone however Surrey Police has been contacted for more information.

UK Power Networks alongside Surrey Fire and Rescue Service (SFRS) have also been pictured at the scene and have been contacted for further comment.

A police cordon surrounding Bellfields Road has now been lifted.
